Has anyone happened to hear anything about a "Hosting Pack" / multi-tenant setup for the new Skype for Business? Microsoft dropped the hosting pack so just wondering if they have plans to support multi-tenancy with Skype for Business.
I know its early and hasn't bee released yet.. just curious
The second edge server and reserve proxy server will put on remote site and no frontend server on this remote site . second edge server and reserve proxy server network connection will using MPLS to connect with remote site frontend server.
Second edge server and reserve proxy server will put on fast internet connection site to do user authenticate .
The purpose is second edge server will do hybrid mode for external user login and location is different .

I have created a PowerShell script that automates enabling users for Lync and setting policies based on group membership. I've successfully tested this script under my domain admin account and now I am working on getting it running as a scheduled task.
Since all the script really does related to Lync is run the commands Enable-CsUser, Set-CsUser, and Grant-Cs<policy name>Policy, I elected to create a service account that only has Lync user administration permissions. Initially, this user account was just a member of CSUserAdministration but this was not working so I added the user to RTCUniversalUserAdmins based on some other information I found.
This change got me by the various access denied errors I was getting in the script, but now I am getting the following error when I run the Enable-CsUser part:

This seems to be some sort of permission error related to the permissions on the SQL database "xds". I checked, and RTCUniversalUserAdmins is a member of both CsUserAdministration and RTCUniversalReadOnlyAdmins. This latter group does have permissions on the xds database. It appears to be granted the "public" role on the database server. The User Mapping shows the following users mapped to the login:
Even though I receive this error, the user is actually added to Lync. Follow-up Set-CsUser and Grant-Cs<policy name>Policy cmdlets succeed just fine.
What do I need to do to fix this error message?

We have an mixed environment which installed both Lync 2013 & 2010, then I try to use command at a same server to export archive data from both lync 2013 & 2010. I try to this command at Lync 2013 server to export lync 2013's archive data:
export-csarchivingdata -startdate 1/1/2015 -outputfolder c:\test -identity ArchivingDatabase:lync2013
It worked & I can got the archive data. But when I try command to export lync 2010's archive data at the same server:
export-csarchivingdata -startdate 1/1/2015 -outputfolder c:\test -DBInstance lync2010
Then I got error message:
<p style="color:red;">export-csarchivingdata : Database version "22.23" not supported.</p>
So my question is: Did cmdlet export-csarchivingdata for lync 2013 support lync 2010 instance, please? Thanks for your help.

Hi, I am at the basic level of VoIP networks however working on a Skype for Business installation project however I wonder if someone can guide me on the following;
1) Is it possible or encouraged to have only one Skype for Business server in a small-medium company that will run all VoIP services?
2) What VOIP gateway works well with interconnection with Skype for Business server?
3) Which SIP cards works well with a Skype for business voip system?

I just setup our Edge server and our Lync Server control panel in front end server will not open.
We are using Standard Edition server setup which we setup a few months ago and the lync server control panel opened up to 3 days ago when i started configuring the topology to include our new edge server. The Web url for control panel does not open as well. Any Ideas?
In a test lab, I have a scaled consolidated edge (2 servers) behind a HLB.
Upgrading the servers to Skype for Business 2015 from Lync 2013 worked, but I get a strange warning in the wizard on each Edge server that says this:
Warning: Warning: Not all machines in the current pool appear to be running the same version of Windows Server. This configuration is not supported and will break communication between machines in the pool. Please check that the following machines are all running the same version of Windows Server:
It then goes on to list each Edge server and the OS version number with "Machine inaccessible" for the OS version of the other Edge server.
I can reproduce it at will in the Deployment Wizard by running Step 2: Setup or Remove Skype for Business Server Components.
I did a network trace and it turns out the server is trying to do an NTLMSSP_AUTH to the other server as the user that is running the wizard, which of course is a local account because these are Edge servers and not domain joined.
Is anyone else seeing this?

I have only 1 public IP, is it possible to publish Lync Edge (Access Edge,AV,WebConf) via TMG) if I would use port 443 for all these services?
Currently I'm publishing Access Edge with port 5061(AV uses port 443, WebConf uses port 444), but unfortunately some ISP here is blocking port 5061 and some of the users couldn't connect to Lync externally at home.
I'm also having a TMG to publish mobility & etc, is it possible to to use only 1 public IP and assign port 443 for all Lync services?

3. Is there way for rollback to Lync 2013 server from skype for business 2015 during the process? (If there is any unexpected interruption)
4. In Swing migration, is pool pairing possible between two different world regions (Tokoyo and Swedan)? or if we plan to implement second identical pool in Tokyo, Japan (the current Deployment is in Sweden) will the distance be a problem for Pool pairing?
5. Is there a way to bring 5 simple URLS (to include Lyncdiscover and SIP connections) for 2 regions (Europe and Asia)?

I'm trying to assign delegates in order to allow executive assistants to create Skype meetings on behalf of their bosses. Right now, these delegates have owner privileges to these calendars but are encountering a message indicating (You don have permissions to schedule Skype meetings on behalf of the owner of the account). I've followed instructions on How to setup Delegates and Delegate Call Forwarding in Lync 2013 but apparently I don't see the call forwarding option listed. Our environment consist of an Lync 2013 Edge, Director and Frontend server and we are using Shoretel for all phone communication. I'm losing me mind trying to determine why this option is now listed and would deeply appreciate any help you can offer to help me resolve this issue.

This is a POC deployment with 1 x FE and 1 X OWA.

Recently i deployed skype for business 2015 server in my environment. All features works fine(chatting,Video,Presentation). Only issue is not able to connect exchange ews services. Its keep on prompting for password, not accepting.
My Environment:- Exchange server 2013 Enterprise, skype for business 2013 standard.
Below things i checked for troubleshooting but not worked:-
1) My internal and external domain are different.(created SRV record in internal domain for autodiscover, not worked, afterthat i removed srv record).
2) checked autodiscover link in user machine and client server(Its asking for credentials, after entering it showing xml page).
3) EWS and autodiscover virtual directory authentication checked.
Current authentication settings:-
Autodiscover = Integrated and basic
EWS == Integrated only. (for testing i enabled basic nd integrated but that also not worked.)

Hello,
our users don't have administrator rights. When a lync meeting link comes to them they're trying to install skype web app plugin. But they can't as they don't have admin rights. So we've downloaded the plugin and tried to install for all users (as users connect to a remote desktop server) but the msi is for only current user. Is there anything we can do? Our Microsoft support contact can't find anything about this.
