This may sound like a silly question but we have migrated all our users to 2013. I have a single 2010 Std Edition FE we are trying to decommission. Our Edge box is still 2010 as we have not had time to upgrade to 2013. I want to remove the CMS from the 2010 server now that its been migrated to 2013.
Should I wait until we switch over to the 2013 Edge before I decommission the 2010 server? If so, I won't bother removing the CMS from 2010 unless it would cause problems for my 2013 environment not doing so.
I know we eventually want to just phase out the Lync 2010 server completely but I suspect we will be staying with the 2010 Edge for some time. We were told we could use it indefinitely instead of upgrading to 2013. I can't imagine what the CMS on 2010 has to do with the Edge but I just thought I would ask.
