I have an existing lync 2010 environment (fe, edge, director) and have added 3 lync 2010 FE, and 2 dns load balanced edge servers to the mix, and while the lync clients on computers seem to work (using hosts files to force traffic for lync 2013 for now), the mobile client wont login either internally or externally (i figure since dns still points at 2010 externally, its expected). The external web svc name is different between the deployments
the error i get on the phone is one of those REAL descriptive errors, specifically "An error occured in Lync, Please retry"...
I have the 2013 edge servers next hop set as the 2013 FE pool, while the 2010 servers next hop is the 2010 director. The outgoing federation route for the site is still the 2010 director.
Should the internal mobile client be failing like this? I had thought since the edge servers were up and running, the autodiscoverinternal.domain.com record pointing at the 2010 servers would still refer my phone to the 2013 Reverse Proxy and edge servers, is that not the case?
