Hey everyone,
I am hoping to get some clarification around the public namespace and multiple sites and edge pools for Lync 2013. There are tons of great articles about Lync deployments out there, but I am having trouble getting my head around the public namespace when it comes to 2 Sites and load balancing.
So take this example:
Site1
Site1Pool.domain.com
Site1edgepool.domain.com (edge pool for site1)
Site1webext.domain.com (web services for site1 pool)
Site2
Site2Pool.domain.com
Site2edgepool.domain.com (edge pool for site2)
Site2webext.domain.com (web services for site2 pool)
Public names:
Access.domain.com
Webconf.domain.com
Av.domain.com
Can I use these public names in the "external FQDN" section on both Edge pools and load balance them with a hardware balancer?
I will also have a reverse proxy at each site for the web services
Meet.domain.com
Dialin.domain.com
LyncDiscover.domain.com
Site1webext.domain.com
Site2webext.domain.com
Can I also load balance these between sites and will they find the correct pool that the user is in? We will be using F5 GTMs and LTMs, and I would like to use both sites if possible for easier failover.
I would appreciate any clarification that can be given.
Thanks
