I have federation enabled and working with a few different partners, a new partner is on Lync 2010, we are on Lync 2013...
they are trying to federate with us but have not setup/used federation before.
They claim to have finished their federation setup.
I try to IM one of their SIP addresses but it just fails with no meaningful error.
I am wondering as an admin what are the best troubleshooting methods to work out how far this request is getting or what is causing the failure? I cannot find any remote federation test utilities (i think one should be included on microsoft remote connectivity analyzer as this would be handy to test your ports and readiness..)
