Howdy,
Back when Skype for Business came out we did not have our Lync server upgraded so we put in the GPO so that people would not see the prompt about what they wanted to run since they didn't have a choice but to use the Lync 2013 UI.
We have now upgraded the Lync Server so I want to test out the new UI and see how it works.
I used the information here to setup a new Client Policy and assign it to myself:
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/Dn954919%28v=OCS.15%29.aspx
However, when I log out and back into Lync, I still see the old UI.
I was able to get the new UI by changing the registry entry from a 0 to a 1 and then launching Lync again.
So, based on this I'm assuming what we need to do is:
- delete the registry key from everyone's machines (or change it to a 1)
- Assign the EnableSkypeUI = $true option to our default Lync Policy.
Is that right?
And if we just want a couple people to test it, we'll have to add them into our test Client Policy and have them manually change their registry?
Thanks!
