I have Lync 2013 Standard User CALs for my users. I am going through the deployment topologies for Lync 2013 and see there are 2 main ways to deploy this service. One of them being the Lync 2013 Standard Edition Server and the other being the Enterprise Edition pool/topology. From what I think I understand I am in need of purchasing a Lync Server license for every "Front-end" server, is that correct? I understand the Pro's and Con's of each deployment option (complexity/HA/DR/etc). What I don't understand at all, knowing that I am using Standard Lync User CALs, what dictates the Enterprise Edition Lync deployment topology vs. the Standard Edition Server deployment? Because I own Standard Edition User CALs does that mean I can only use the Standard Edition Server deployment?
