Unable to retrieve Meetings and Voicemail info from Exchange on 2013 Mobility Client

Hi all,

Right after login with a Lync 2013 Mobile client on WP8, I receive 'no meetings' or 'no voicemail' even though I have appointments and voicemails that show up in my desktop client logged in both internally and externally.

The cert used on the 2013 Exchange Server was issued by the local CA, but I did install the cert chain on my Windows 8 Phone to avoid any cert issues, which this does not appear to be.

Wondering if anyone has any troubleshooting advice as to how I can get my calendar and voicemails to show up on WP8 client.

Any feedback is appreciated,

Paul

Tenho 9 SIPs diferentes e 380 usuarios.

Mobility for Lync 2013 Pool Users is not working when coexisting with Lync 2010 Pool

Hi,

I am facing a problem with Lync Mobility (for Lync 2013 pool users) after installing Lync 2013 FE in an existing Lync 2010 Environment in which mobility is working for Lync 2010 pool users. I need to clarify the how to get that working:

1- Does the external Web URL on Lync 2013 pool have to be different from the external Web URL used on the Lync 2010 pool? This means we need to register a new public DNS record with a new IP address?

2- I am using ISA 2006 as reverse proxy. Do i need to create a new publishing rule other than the existing Lync 2010 publishing rule to publish the Lync 2013? How should that be configured in coexistince envionment of Lync 2010 and Lync 2013?

If somebody has exact details and requirements on how to configure the coexistence of mobility i would really appreciate if it can be shared with me. Thanks.

Meeting URL - Lync 2010-2013 coexistence

I have Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 coexistence (same domain).

The meeting URL of my Lync 2010 is https://meet.getconference.com.br. Can I have other meeting URL to my Lync 2013 at the same domain??

I want that users in Lync 2010 use https://meet.getconference.com.br to continue using the Lync Attendee and users in Lync 2013 use other URL to use the Web App.

Is it possible? How can I do this?

LYNC 2013 generating Full Address book files but not the delta ones

Dear Experts,

I have noticed after I installed a new LYNC 2013 pool that the SQL share for address book is only showing F-xxxx for full downloads of address book but I am not seeing the D-xxx delta files which is causing my client not to receive the GALContactDelta file.

This new pool is an enterprise LYNC 2013 and I am currently testing to move from LYNC 2010. I have only one Address Book configuration policy and I did not create any new policy for the new pool/site. Any suggestions where to check the cause is appreciated.

Lync 2013 client needs to authenticate in TMG

Hi,

So we have Lync 2010 working perfectly and 2013 side by side in the production environment but still in testing.

On first launch of the 2013 client, we get this prompt:

Entering some credentials or even cancelling seems to work sometimes and everything is fine after that, but we'd like this not to happen for every user on first launch if we can avoid it.

The person who started setting up Lync 2013 is no longer with us, I'm assuming its something in TMG that needs updating, but with all the Lync rules we have, I'm not sure what.

I try install lync 2013 Ent:

1. Publish topology complete with error database create (sql server name not available, fogot fqdn)

2. I can't delete topolody "Cannot publish topology changes. Conference directories still exist on a pool that would be deleted. Remove the conference directories before continuing." And I can't remove conference because I not install Lync :)

3. I add cname to dns. Try install database from topology builder - complete with error for database rtcxds, rtcab, qoemetrics - " sql error code = 539, error message = Schema changed after the target table was created. Rerun the Select Into query."

4. I try second run "Install database" error - "Database rtcxds could not be updated because it requires major upgrade from version 0 to version 15. Due to schema changes this database cannot be re-used. It must be dropped and a new one created.  Database rtcab could not be updated because it requires major upgrade from version 0 to version 62. Due to schema changes this database cannot be re-used. It must be dropped and a new one created. Database QoEMetrics could not be updated because it requires major upgrade from version 0 to version 62. Due to schema changes this database cannot be re-used. It must be dropped and a new one created."

5. I try remove database rtcxds, rtcab, qoemetrics and run "Install database" - " sql error code = 539, error message = Schema changed after the target table was created. Rerun the Select Into query."

How I can fix this error?

I currently have an enterprise front end pool.domain.com, with 1 FE server lync1.domain.com, and a backend sql server lyncdb.domain.com. I want to add high availability in the event that either the front end server goes down or the backend. how best can this be achieved?

Lync Remote connection setup - Complete traffic flow

$

Hello all,

I am absolutely no OCS/Lync expert. That said, I have a lot of experience with all kinds of set-ups of all other MS products, and have also setup a Lync 2010 en Lync 2013 environment. But only for internal clients.

I am now in the process of setting up external client connection. So no fancy things like Federation or web-based connections.

What I'd like to have is something like a process flow diagram of the traffic that is needed to make this work.

Why is it not enough to open the FW and NAT port 5061 traffic to the Edge server and port 443 traffic to port 4443 of the FE pool?

I'm trying all day setting up a simple environment, but can't get it to work and all "documentation" just seem to contradict eachother and as such is not very helpful.

Can some please explain the traffic flow and help me in the correct direction?

BTW I do not want to use a Reverse Proxy for this environment, but I am using a rather sophisticated FW, which also NAT's the inbound traffic.

Thanks for your replies.

Regards,

Stephan van der Plas

Hi,

I'm deploying Lync 2013 pilot.

I noticed that Lync 2013 client is only available with Microsoft Office 2013.

Questions

1. Is Lync Client 2013 available as standalone product?

2. If I use Lync Client 2010 with Lync Server 2013, what do I loose?

Thanks and regards

2010 -> 2013 no replication after CMS move

$

I am working through decommissioning my 2010 pool. Everything on the 2013 is working pretty well (except external users calling internally, but that's a different issue).

After running Move-CsManagementServer I checked topology builder and it had indeed moved my CMS to the new pool. I got a bit ahead of myself and tried running the command to remove the old database from my old sql server (Uninstall-CsDatabase -CentralManagementDatabase)however that failed. I dont know if attempting to run that was the problem or not, but I tried running Get-CsManagementStoreReplicationStatus after and it returned no results!

I figured that was a problem so I read in some other technet thread to try re-running step 2 in deployment wizard (add/remove components) on my old 2010 FE server. After this it still returned no results so I did some more reading and realized I had to check my services. I started my 2013 Master Replicator service and was able to get results, however they were all false.

I went on to my 2010 FE and tried starting the Master Replicator service however it would not start. Event viewer shows:

Log Name:      Lync Server
Source:        LS Master Replicator Agent Service
Date:          4/11/2013 5:58:07 PM
Event ID:      2010
Task Category: (2122)
Level:         Error
Keywords:      Classic
User:          N/A
Computer:      lync02.andomain.auroranorthsoftware.com
Description:
Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Master Replicator Agent successfully registered with the back-end, but a schema or sproc version mismatch was detected. The service will not start until this problem is resolved.

Database version: Actual = 10.13, Expected = 10.8.
Cause: Installation error.
Resolution:
Ensure both Microsoft Lync Server 2010, Master Replicator Agent and back-end were installed or modified by the same installation package.

Oddly enough everything is working fine in the 2013 pool (minus that unrelated problem) and the CMS move even fixed an issue we had with multiple work numbers showing up on contact cards.

Since we are all okay, can we just keep running as is with replication a bit funky? Or is this going to end up being a problem that we need to resolve?

Hi Everyone,

I'm setting up a Lync system and I was hoping someone could verify I have the following correct:

External DNS Records

sip.external.com - points to the Edge Server
admin.external.com - points to the reverse proxy
dialin.external.com - points to the Edge Server
lyncdiscover.external.com - points to the Edge Server
lyncedgepooldnsname.external.com - points to the Edge Server
meet.external.com - points to the reverse proxy

Is this correct?

Thanks,

Tom
