Lync 2013 Hosting Pack v2 Skype integration

$

I have a Lync 2013 Hosting deployment. Hosting Pack v2 supports public IM with Skype, but in the guide the setup steps are missing. I configured the Federation (federated provider ect.) like an on premise deployment and enabled Public IM connectivity on the Tenant:

Identity             : Global

AllowedDomains       : Microsoft.Rtc.Management.WritableConfig.Settings.Edge.AllowList

BlockedDomains       : {}

AllowFederatedUsers   : True

AllowPublicUsers      : True

SharedSipAddressSpace : False

When I add a skype user to my buddy list, I cannot see the presence and in the Lync Front End Logs I get the following failure that the domain is not part of the tenant allow list.

Message-Body: <reportError xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/2006/09/sip/error-reporting"><error toUri="sip:***daniel@hotmail.com" callId="c46a551b0e28439482edd9f3cbbc4a78" fromTag="eeef2d866f" toTag="F89423B3CF5DDBEF396B7A8FD53211EF" contentType="application/sdp;call-type=im" responseCode="403" requestType="INVITE"><diagHeader>27000;reason="To-Uri Domain is not in the sender-tenant allow list";source="FRONTEND.DOMAIN.COM";appName="OutgoingFederation";OriginalPresenceState="0";CurrentPresenceState="0";MeInsideUser="Yes";ConversationInitiatedBy="6";SourceNetwork="5";RemotePartyCanDoIM="Yes"</diagHeader><progressReports/></error></reportError>$$end_record

What can I do to enable public connectivity on the tenant without adding the skype Domain (could be any Live ID) to the tenant allow list?

Greetings

Cannot lync enable any user

Hi all,

I have an issue with a newly installed lync 2013 server. When I go to control panel and want to lync enable any user, I get the following error:

Insufficient access rights to perform the operation
00002098: SecErr: DSID-03150BB9, problem 4003 (INSUFF_ACCESS_RIGHTS), data 0

However I can enable users using powershell command enable-csuser, but the enabled user does not show up in the lync control panel.

The administrator account is in the CSAdministrator and the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group. Under Active Directory Users and Computers, on the security page of the user, the inlude inheritable permissions from this object's parent checkbox is selected.

Can anyone help?

lync 2013 mobile app does not work internally, SIP domain is Different than users UPN. not sure if that matters.

using the lync client connectivity tester on a pc on the same lan as my mobile client everything is green and it says its ready for use.

using my android galaxy s5 client on wifi on the same lan i get a screen with waiting to sign in spinning and an error at the top "we cant connect to the server check your network connection and server address, and try again."

i have uploaded the full client log files here: client log file

some errors that stand out from this log file are:

1. ERROR HttpEngine: Certificate check fails: java.security.cert.CertPathValidatorException: Trust anchor for certification path not found.

2. <h2>401 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to invalid credentials.</h2>
<h3>You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials that you supplied.</h3>
i am using the correct creds, same creds i used on the analyzer tool.
in the analyzer tool i did have to fill in the username field because my sip domain is different then my users UPN. which from what ive read its required to use the username field.
i also filled in the username field in the mobile app with domain\username

3. ERROR LYNC: ERROR TRANSPORT /Volumes/ServerHD2/buildagent/workspace/200604/tps/ucmp/platform/networkapis/privateandroid/CHttpConnection.cpp/295:CHttpConnection exception: java.lang.NullPointerException

this is the same type of error i was getting in the lync connectivity analyzer until i filled in the username field. but its filled in, in my client.

again you can see the full log file is `HERE

thank you in advance for any help. im trying to get internal working before i try external.

SQL Cluster requiremnt for Lync 2013

Hi

We are are planning to deploy Lync 2013 enterprise. Planning to use SQL cluster. Would like to clarify whether we must create a sepearte sql instance for Lync 2013 or can we use an existing shared instance to create a seperate database for Lync.  We prefer 2nd approach. Is there any issues or demerits using existing shared SQL instances?

Thanks and regards,

Aboo Arif

Lync 2013 Mobility in coexistense with Lync 2010

Hi

I am facing Issue when connecting my internal mobile client with Lync Server 2013. The Mobile Client doesn't sign in to Lync Server 2013.

Currently we are in co-existence phase with Lync 2010.

There was no mobility service configured or installed in Lync 2010 environment before when we deployed Lync Server 2013 Enterprise pool with only one front end server.

The SRV record _sipinternalts is currently pointing to Lync server 2010 pool and the lyncdiscoverinternal.domain.com is point to the IP of Lync Front End Server.

Is it necessary to configure and deploy mobility service on Lync 2010 front end server in order to allow Lync Server 2013 users to connect using mobile client??

(Lync 2013) Lync Web App: Call ended because of network connectivity issues

$

I'm having a very strange problem with Lync Web App. When I try to join a meeting, it works in the following conditions:

- With the Lync 2013 windows client: always (internal network, external network)

- Lync Web App:  Works in internal network. When I'm on an external network, I'm able to join a meeting, but when Lync Web App tries to establish the call, it ends with the error: "Call ended because of network connectivity issues".  On the other hand, IM works with Lync Web App (internal/external network). But all the other features (presentation, audio call, video call) are not working.

Did anyone experience such an issue ?

Thanks,

Antonio

One SIP domain, Two Central Sites AND Simple URLs

Hi all,

I am deploying a second central site to an already published topology.

When I use the Planning Tool and specify two central sites, it configures the simple URLs as follows:

SITE A

dialin.mydomain.com  131.107.157.1

meet.mydomain.com  131.107.157.1

SITE B

dialin.mydomain.com  131.107.156.1

meet.mydomain.com  131.107.156.1

Why are the DNS names the same for both locations? is this supposed to be some sort of DNS load balancing?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Lync boots everyone out during snapshot

When ever we take a VMware snapshot of the front end server - its boots everyone out and gives them a 'Please sing out at another location and try again'. They can click OK immediately at it signs them back in fine.

Any idea how to prevent this?

I have installed SQL SERVER 2012 Developer version for 64bit machine so after installing it audio quality call check is stop working in LYNC 2013. I am unable to join meeting through LYNC due to audio connection. It was working fine before SQL Server installation, I am using brand new HP laptop.

All other functionality of Lync is working fine except audio.

Is it possible to find out any workaround available from Microsoft for this issue.

Can apply CU update on backup pool front end server 2 first?

If update is normal and fix some problem move user to front end server 2 test and  then apply CU update on front end server 1.

Lync Mobile 2013 not connected.

Hello Guys

I have the following problem with Lync Mobile 2013 ):

- I have running Lync 2013 Standard and configure Lync Mobile for Internal/External Link. When a user need to connect to internal lync with Wifi Connection, the connection is not established. Internal dns records for the url webapps.domain.net and also to lyncdiscovery.domain.net were created but until now the mobiles are trying to connect for some time without success.

We reviewed the step without finding a solution to the problem of mobiles procedures.

Could someone tell me or help to solve this problem, because I stopped in this detail. We are not using TMG to publish internally and the firewall has open ports on our LAN.

Thanks for your help
