Multiple LS Storage Service 32054 errors

It seems that everything is working, but I have many errors in Event Log.

Cause: Autodiscovery Uri was not correctly configured or unreachable, that there is a problem with the Proxy, or other errors.
Resolution:
Check event details.  Check autodiscovery Uri is properly configured and reachable. Check that proxy setting is properly configured and reachable.  Validate Lync to Exchange Autodiscovery configuration by following the trouble shooting guide. If problem persists, notify your organization's support team with the event details.

***************************************************************************************

Not sure why it is trying to use https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc. Is this correct?  I thought it should behttps://lyncdiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc orhttps://lyncweb.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc.

If I run Get-CsService -WebServer | fl  autodiscover*, I receive the following output:

AutodiscoverServiceExternalUri : https://lyncweb.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root
AutodiscoverServiceInternalUri : https://lyncpool.domain.local/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root

As I said, everything looks good and working. Anyone has any ideas what that is?

Thank you.

Thank you. Eric.

Creating new trusted application pool for enabling synthetic transaction through watcher node configuration using scom

Hello,

In Lync We have below configuration in Lync

Two FE (front end) servers: S1Front1.domain.com, S2Front2.domain.com

Frontend pool : frontendpool.domain.com and both frontend server are behind it

Two director servers : D1.domain.com & D2.domain.com

Director pool : directorpool.domain.com

We want to enable synthetic transaction monitoring through SCOM

For creating new trusted application pool we use below command. We want to install watcher node on d1 director server

New-CsTrustedApplicationPool  -Identity D1.domain.com -Site 1  -Registrar frontendpool.domain.com  -Verbose

We are getting below error

New-CsTrustedApplicationPool : There is a duplicate key sequence 'D1.domain.com' for the 'urn:schema:Microsoft.Rtc.Management.Deploy.Topology.2008:MachineFqdn' key or unique ident

Hi,

we tried to install Lync Server 2013 in our Domain. Schema Update was ok but we stuck ad the forest prep:

 24.04.2015 19:50:18 Error

I found a quite similar post here https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/de-DE/8c107804-8ff1-4cf4-82d5-89ea4759c8a0/schema-validation-failed?forum=lyncdeploy but wan't to clarify it especially for our Environment.

As i checked the different ISO and Schema updates i think "Service schema Version (ServiceSchema.ldf)" is only for hosted Lync. I didn't installed the Lync 2010 Server but for Lync 2013 i used the normal ISO.

So i checked the AD Schema and found out that there were some Attributes which i though they would only be there when somebody ever installed the Hosting Version. But it confuses me because not all Attributes from the Hosting Version are present.

For example the following Attributes are present from the Lync 2010 Hosting:

msRTCSIP-AssignedPlan
msRTCSIP-Domains
msRTCSIP-ObjectId
msRTCSIP-PendingDeletion
msRTCSIP-ProvisionedPlan
msRTCSIP-ProvisioningStamp
msRTCSIP-PublicProvider
msRTCSIP-PublishingStamp
msRTCSIP-PUID
msRTCSIP-ServiceInfo
msRTCSIP-ServiceSchemaVersion
msRTCSIP-SubscribedPlanXml
msRTCSIP-SyncCookie
msRTCSIP-UsageLocation
msRTCSIP-ValidationError
msRTCSIP-WellKnownObject

But i can't find the following:

msRTCSIP-ProvisioningCounter
msRTCSIP-ProvisionSettings
msRTCSIP-PublishingCounter
msRTCSIP-SubscribedPlan
msRTCSIP-SyncCheckpoint

Can you tell me why? Is it from an old Beta/RC Installation of Lync 2010 or from Office Communicator?

Furthermore what can i do to get Lync 2013 running? Do i have to use the hosted Version since i can't undo the schema changes somebody did a few years ago? Can i use it for my root and subdomain?

Thanks in advance

Andy

Patching process for mutiple EE pool

$

Looking for some advice regarding the patching process for Lync EE with multiple sites.

I have 2 sites:

Site 1: Contains all my users and the CMS. Patch level is 8308.857 (Nov 2014)

In this site I run an Edge pool and Persistent Chat setup.

My Databases run on a mirror with a witness. My monitoring and Chat Rooms are collocated on the same DB instance. The PChat Front End sits on a standalone VM.

Site 2: New pool that I'm going to move users onto. I've run the Lync installer.exe on the 3 Front Ends to the latest patch: 8308.872.

I have installed monitoring reports. My plan is to move PChat and CMS into this site at later time.

Using the patching KB (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2809243) as a guide, I'm not entirely sure what steps I need to take to complete the patching of site 2, do I issue this command from a Front End in site 2:

Install-CsDatabase -ConfiguredDatabases -SqlServerFqdn <Site2SQLFQDN> -Verbose

Does this command take care of patching my monitoring database? Obviously it won't patch MGC or XDS db's as they don't exist there until I move them out of Site 1. I'm assuming that once I'm ready to move PChat and CMS they will be happy sitting on the new patch level?

As per the KB, I don't think I need to run Step 3 as my CMS is already updated from Feb 2013.

I then issue: Enable-CsTopology

Re-run the bootstrapper on all FE's on Site 2.

I feel like a complete idiot posting this but need to get this clear in my head!

The message wasn't sent to Skype user due to company policy.

I registered on PIC  and they replied The provisioning request has been successfully completed. Does I still have to wait 30 days? or configuration problem? Thanks.

I follow the configuration as below and delete and re-add by powershell.

Lync 2013 and Ipad/Android Issues

$

Lync 2013 Oct 2014 RU env. All on-prem.  No Voip.

We set up our Lync 2013 environment to use an internal PKI cert.  Our edge and reverse proxy is using a public CA cert from Thawte.  Lync Mobile from outside our network on Iphones or Andorids works fine.  On our internal network it is another story.

After calling MS we added INTERNAL DNS records for our External web url and lyncdiscover.sipdomain.com to point to the reverse proxy external IP address.  This made the Ipads/Iphones/Android devices work for IM only if they were hooked up on our internal corporate wireless network.

Now if I take that same Ipad that is working for IM/Presence on our internal wireless and try to join a lync meeting, it fails when hitting the urlhttps://meet.sipdomain.com.  I'm assuming it is hitting our internal DNS record of meet.sipdomain.com that points to FE server. That server/s have our INTERNAL PKI cert on them.

I'm just not understanding why MS designed the system like this stating to use an internal CA for all the FE servers when you can't BYOD without installing a cert on them.  I'm guessing to resolve my problem I need to push out our INTERNAL PKI cert to the Ipads that are used on our internal corp wireless.  For some reason the android devices will give you a cert warning if you click on thehttps://meet.sipdomain.com url and you can then accept the warning and proceed to join the meeting.

Unknown Presence in Lync 2010 and Lync 2013 co-existence

I have lync 2010 and lync 2013 in my environment. Everything was working fine except when I moved the DNS of the Lync 2013 pool to the load balancer. When I did that, users on lync2013 could see the presence of users on Lync2010 pool but not vice versa.

I have point the Lyncdiscoverinternal.domain.com to the lync2013 pool DNS. I have opened migration ports on the load balancer but still not working. It works perfectly fine if I point the DNS of the pool to one server directly without going through the Load balancer VIP.

Am I missing anything here?

Thanks!

Lync 2013 - Opening to the outside (federation and lync meetings)

Hi All,

I just setup Lync 2013 in our environement. I had a question regarding opening Lync 2013 to the outside world? A couple of things:

1.) For Federation purposes

        2.) Lync Meetings

We currently have 100 employees configured for Lync. Should we setup a Edge Server (with a dedicited NAT Adddress and put on a DMZ), or do we just setup a NAT address on the server. Like I mentioned above we would like to setup a ferderation(skype, third party users) and Lync meetings. Any advice for planning this would be awesome!

Upgrading AD Server for Lync 2013

I have now a Lync 2013 infrastructure deployed on an Active Directory infrastructure based on Windows Server 2003 including the servers, the domain functional level and forest functional level. We are planning to upgrade to Windows Server 2012.

My questions are:

1/  What are the impacts to my Lync 2013 infrastructure?

2/ Is there any documentation addressing the changes on the Lync Infrastructure in relation to AD upgrade?

3/ Anyone could share his/her experience?

Office Web App Server publishing with Citrix NetScaler (or Exchange / Lync / Sharepoint environment)

Hi all,

Been looking around internet for quite sometime but I am not able to find the related information.

We had bought 3 Citrix NetScaler for the NLB on Exchange, Lync and SharePoint.

As per my understanding, we need to publish Office Web App as well for external user to use the function such as Lync PowerPoint slide presentation.

How do I create the load balancing virtual service for Office Web App in NetScaler and publish it?

Any advice / guide that can share with a noob like me?

Thanks and Regards,

Lync 2010 upgrade to 2013, 2 domains

$

Hello,

I have following scenario:

We are having two domains, old domain ( domain1.local ) is running Exchange 2010 + Lync 2010 with single FE & Edge and new domain ( domain2.ads ), where we are currently deploying Exchange 2013 + Lync 2013. Two-way trust exists between domains. Useraccount & computers are joined to new domain. Users have linked mailboxes to old domain, and they are using lync with old domains credentials. E-mail address that is used is in form user@company.com, and the same domain is being used on new exchange& lync aswell.

Currently I have installed Front End, Edge & ARR as reverse proxy, and configured networks for them.

I also created a topology, However, I have not published topology yet, as I am not entirely sure what possibly could happen if I would do that.

There are some DNS-records missing on internal DNS, as i cannot figure, how I could add the SRV records without breaking the old enviroment, as users are using new domains DNS.

So Question goes,

If I publish the topology, is it possible that the old lync enviroment could malfuction, and if yes, is it possible to revert the changes ? I tried to download old topology, but it cannot be found ( probably due missing dns-entries ).

Second question is that is it possible to migrate user contactlists etc to new enviroment, as the useraccount is going to change?

Thanks In advance

Front End Server Certificate Renewal

I would like to see if someone could offer simple clarification to a hopefully simple question.  My OAuth and Default Certificates are expiring soon.

Can I request a certificate, using the wizard (which has worked before so no issues there) and effectively "stage" it to later assign during my scheduled maintenance window so I can simply assign and reboot?

It isn't exactly imperative that this works in exactly this way, it would just be nice to request the certificate and ease my workload later, sort of like staging system patches but with certs, ha ha.

Thanks.

what happens when Skype for business evaluation expires?

I am testing Skype for business within my company before actually rolling out teh Skype for Business for all. I am using Skype for business evaluation version to test the features and/or and impact it would have on Lync 2013 existing users. I need to know what happens when the skype for business evaluation patch expires on 1st May 2015, what will the users see? will it switch back to Lync 2013 on its own or do I need to uninstal the package to do so?

Skype for Business - contacting Skype users

$

Hi all - I've searched but cannot find an answer on this: if I upgrade to Skype for Business will users be able to contact, directly, Skype users? I understand that Lync users can contact Skype users who have logged in with a Microsoft account but wonder if the service is now extended to those users logging directly into Skype?

Thanks

Controlling media streams in a mult-central sites Lync Deployment

$

Customer has a Lync 2013 infrastructure with two central sites (HQ & Zone 1) connected using MPLS network.

HQ users are on-premises (on campus) and may occasionally access from remote thru Edge Server and Reverse Proxy Server of this central site.

Zone 1 infrastructure is hosted in a data center.  Zone 1 users have access to the infrastructure using Edge Server and Reverse Proxy Server for Zone 1.

The question is: "How to ensure media traffic (voice, video, collaboration) between HQ & Zone 1 users go through the MPLS network? No matter for scheduled conferences or ad-hoc conferences"
