Hi,
So, I know the official advice is to do an in-place upgrade of LS2013 to SfBS 2015.
But, in my environment we can't easily do that. Basically, the server running LS2013 (Standard Edition) has a number of issues including not being able to install any Windows Updates for about a year, and it's on Windows Server 2008 R2 which is getting on
a bit, and also seemingly some .NET errors that I haven't been able to fix. It works as a Lync Server, bit I'm not sure I'd consider it stable. It's Standard Edition single server (though we have a separate Edge server as well).
I basically can't risk doing an in-place upgrade because it's very likely to fall over.
So, I've been scouring the net trying to find a good actual guide for doing a side-by-side migration and not come up with one.
I've been using the Lync 2010 -> Lync 2013 official Microsoft docs as a guideline, but it's obviously not all relevant.
I found this but it's only the 1st half of the article and I've already got that far. Looks like Part 2 was never written.
What I need is all the steps for moving users (straightforward), response groups (less so), Exchange integration (much less so), whateverelseisneeded, and then finally decommissioning the Lync Server 2013 afterwards.
Anyone got any good links, Microsoft or 3rd party?
Thanks,
Sam
