Hi Guys,
I am trying to setup Lync 2013 for External User but i am stock with this Error.

Hi Guys,
I have the following setup:
standard edition 2013 FE
edge server 2013
reverse proxy with iis 8 with arr 2.5 and patched with the hotfix
Questions:
1. with reverse proxy, does the route go something like this
lync.xxx.com>reverse proxy>internet>fqdn external web services on fe public ip?
2. I have multiple sip domains and to cut down on costs and forecast for future sip domains I setup the web services as follows: https://lync.xxx.com/sipdomain1/meet/ https://lync.xxx.com/sipdomain2/meetwhatever I try this doesn't proxy to the fe external web service fqdn it errors out on the proxy server. I am looking for the proper expression/pattern in iis to make it work. Whats interesting is https://lync.xxx.com/dialin works and is forwarded to the web services fqdn on the fe server, however if I try and login it doesn't do anything. This leads me to believe the pattern in iis arr for the url rewrite is somehow dropping the request. logs don't tell me much. this is all driving me insane as I have been working on this for a week. this is the pattern I have been trying: ((?:^dialin|^id|^Abs|^autodiscover|^CertProv|^CollabContent|^Fonts|^GroupExpansion|^HybridConfig|^lwa|^mcx|^PassiveAuth|^PersistentChat|^Reach|^RequestHandlerExt|^RgsClients|^Scheduler|^Storage|^ucwa|^WebTicket).*) and also * and also (.*) with no avail
3. cant get lync mobility on iPhone to work, lync 2013 client on ios. same situation as #2, on Microsoft test connectivity I get this error and everything passes including the ssl: ://lyncdiscover.xxx.com/?sipuri=xx@xx.com has token = "user" http content isn't verified http error 502 bad gateway. again the reverse proxy isn't forwarding and simply dropping the connectioon
Thanks for any suggestions on getting this to work...
Hi Lync gurus,
I have a weird issue:
Just installed a Lync Standard 2013.
Everything works except I keep getting this error in Log: every 30 minute or so.
First an Error: Event 47067
A server did not respond to HTTP request
Server lyncserver.domain.local did not respond to HTTP request PublishCertRequest targeted athttps://lyncserver.domain.local:444/LiveServer/UserPinService.
Cause: Server might be down or the network path between servers might not be properly configured.
Resolution:
Please ensure that the server can be connected on the target port using telnet and then re-try.
.
Then I get a Warning: Event 47068
GetAndPublish web service failed.
Certificate could not be published in the database associated with User Services Cluster [lyncserver.domain.local ]. Request Details - Entity: [clicitra@domain.com], Device Id: [6BB30A3E-2923-553A-8E5F-0B2FB2CEA330], Authenticated User: [sip:CLicitra@domain.com].
Additional Context: [Publish_Failure: OtherFailure;HttpNoResponse:"lyncserver.domain.local "]
Cause: This could be due to network connectivity issues with the remote server, or because the database is down.
Resolution:
Please ensure that the user services is reachable and the database is up and running.
Thanks for any help
I have been trying to install Lync 2013 in the standard way - that is a side by side installation next to the existing Lync 2010 set up. However, the Lync 2010 FE server has died - I can't login to it and it isn't starting the Lync services. All it shows is a black screen. The Lync 2010 edge server is unaffected.
I wondered what the best way to deal with this is. We are very small so it is not a problem if I have to add all the users again. Would it be possible to just delete the 2010 FE server from the topology (using the 2013 FE server) and will that work or does it need to contact the 2010 server to do that? Would it be better (or possible) to just create a completely new 2013 installation that doesn't download the topology but, instead, creates a completely new one? Would that mean adsiedit to clean up AD first?
If anyone can think of any other ways to deal with this I would be very grateful.
Best wishes....
Colin
At the moment we have 2 sites each with one Lync 2010 server. We don't have any edge server and don't plan to have any as we won't be federating with any external companies nor want to have the ability to access the Lync from internet.
Can you suggest the Lync 2013 design for High availability and Site resilience. Both should be automatic and shouldn't need any administrator intervention. Also the best pratice in regards to splitting the roles.

Hey, everyone!
We're having a problem when someone is on a call and a second call comes in from there. Here is what is occurring:
We've also tested answering the second call. This results in the first person being put on hold and then silence on both ends of the second call.
This is also happening no matter if the call is a Lync call or an external call.
I did some Googling, and found a lot of references to changing these settings:
Set-CsTrunkConfiguration -RTCPActiveCalls $false -RTCPCallsOnHold $false
Is that what I should try to fix this problem as well?
I'm not seeing any errors on the server-side of things, but since it's happening on Lync-to-Lync calls as well as across multiple clients, it has to be something on the server side. Updating this mediation server setting seems to make sense to me.
I'd value anyone's input before making this change, though.
Thanks!

How to add participant pin code followed by # after conference phone number,
for example: +conference_number,,conference_id# ????????
What when the conference ID will change? Is it possible to do?
It seems that everything is working, but I have many errors in Event Log.

Cause: Autodiscovery Uri was not correctly configured or unreachable, that there is a problem with the Proxy, or other errors.
Resolution:
Check event details. Check autodiscovery Uri is properly configured and reachable. Check that proxy setting is properly configured and reachable. Validate Lync to Exchange Autodiscovery configuration by following the trouble shooting guide. If problem
persists, notify your organization's support team with the event details.

Not sure why it is trying to use https://autodiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc. Is this correct? I thought it should behttps://lyncdiscover.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc orhttps://lyncweb.domain.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.svc.
If I run Get-CsService -WebServer | fl autodiscover*, I receive the following output:
AutodiscoverServiceExternalUri :
https://lyncweb.domain.com/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root
AutodiscoverServiceInternalUri :
https://lyncpool.domain.local/Autodiscover/AutodiscoverService.svc/root
As I said, everything looks good and working. Anyone has any ideas what that is?
Thank you.
Thank you. Eric.
Hi everyone,
Migrating from lync 2010 to lync 2013 using this guide http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204854.aspx
Now i have run the Move-CsRgsConfiguration command and now i can see the response group created in lync 2013 and still exist in lync 2010 for roll back purposes as the guide specified.
Now i want to turn of the lync 2010 sql, so how can i decommission the old lync response groups in lync 2010 before i remove the whole lync 2010

If I look at the instructions for the January updates:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2809243/
I can see that it says you have to run "Install-csdatabase". But as far as I can see you dont need to that because the database are already at the correct level.
http://blogs.technet.com/b/dodeitte/archive/2013/07/02/how-to-verify-if-lync-server-2013-database-updates-completed-successfully.aspx
My question is if the last part about mobility and running bootstrapper is also redundant since I already have mobility enabled?
I guess the information is there since it is a cumulativeupdate so if you have not installed any of the previous updates you have to run both the database update and enable the mobility service?
We are running an OCS2007 R1 environment. I don't want to touch it in any way or impact any uses.
The plan is to spin up a totally seperate Lync 2013 environment (Side by Side) without effecting any 2007 users. I am already using sip.domain.com for 2007 edge server. I'm assuming I would just create a different SIP address of say SIPLYNC2013.domain.com and use that for lync 2013 deployment. I know there is no upgrade path for 2007R1 to Lync 2013 so keeping the sip address different would be correct???
Both environments will be in the same AD Domain.
Dear Experts,
i am having very strange problem with my Lync 2013 setup. Below are the details for my Lync 2013 setup,
1) We have two Active Directory sites named Site A & Site B.
2) Lync 2013 is configured for single sip domain called abc.com.
3) In Site A we have Lync 2013 Front End server as well as Lync 2013 Edge Server.
4) In Site B we have Lync 2013 Front End server as well as Lync 2013 Edge Server.
5) Users in Site A are members of Lync 2013 site A pool & Users in Site B are members of Lync 2013 site B pool.
6) _sip._tls.abc.com SRV record are pointing to Site A Lync Edge server with priority 10.
7) _sip._tls.abc.com SRV record are pointing to Site B Lync Edge server with priority 20 so that incase of site A Lync edge server unavailibility users in Site B can able to login to Lync clients.
Now the problem which i am facing is if i shutdown LyncEdge server in Site A. My users in Site B pool can able to login to Lync clients from external network and can communicate with other site B pool using IM but they are unable to share their desktop with lync clients as well as unable to make audio call with clients.
If i sign in to lync client from external network from 1 laptop and than signin from same external network from another laptop i can able to make audio call but i am unable to make audio call with users who are on different external network.
If i power on Lync Edge server in Site A i am able to make audio calls with every users.
Your help in this will be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards,
ZB
As you can see in the picture below, I have the main AD called main.prod and two child1 and child2 subdomains. What is more I have AD called international.prod placed in foreign country. I have mbox, cas using child1.main.prod domain and lync 2010 with UM funcion. The more I have 2way trust between child2.main.prod subdomain and international.prod domain. Now what I would like to do is : make CAS in subdomain child2.main.prod which is authorising people from domain international.prod and have mailboxes on mbox from subdomain child1.main.prod as it is shown in the picture. Do you think it make sense? Or I have to make mbox in subdomain child2.main.prod????
WHat else: I would like resign Lync 2010 and install new Lync 2013 and make people from subdomains: child1 and child2 and domain international.prod using this new Lync ,and move UM funcionality from old 2010 lync into new 2013.
Any contraindications, suggestions??
Hi there,
I have deployed a Lync environment (1 Standard FE, 1 Edge, 1 Apache Webserver as Reverse Proxy) and there's a problem with my meeting URL's.
If I click "Meet now" in my Lync Desktop Client, get an URL for the meeting, but if I open it, I'll get a HTTP 404.
I can join those meetings by using the dial-in functionality, so they seem to be existing.
If I open the main meet.domain.com page, I get a 403 - Access denied, which is ok.
This happens internal and external.
I am using an Apache as Reverse Proxy, mobility is working fine with it. I also tested the environment with IIS ARR to make the simple URL's available, but I ran into the same problem.
The Apache (Reverse Proxy) and the Edge Servers are in the DMZ and reachable from the internet.
Please tell me which details you'll need to investigate this issue.
I can provide you the apache configuration if you'll need it.
Thanks,
Philipp
Hi all
We have a working Lync Monitoring solution, which I've used for various troubleshooting. However now for the first time I wanted to view some media quality data and there doesn't seem to be any? I can view the user activity reports and everything just fine, but any report related to QoE seems to have no data. We have enabled purging and gathering of QoE data and the retention period is 60 days.
I don't know where to go from here. Any ideas? I was thinking about looking in the sql database to see if there is any data, but unfortunately I'm unsure which database to check and what query command i should use on which table.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Hi, I have just installed Office 2013 on my laptop. Lync 2013 keeps crashing on start up ever since. Other Office Applications are working fine.
PC config:
Intel iCore5
Dell Inspiron N5110
Windows 7 Basic (64 bit OS)
4Gb Ram with Nvidia Ge Force graphics card
Lync 2010 works fine but Lync 2013 keeps crashing.
Have seen other threads related to this but non provide a proper solution.
Hi, if I'm using Lync 2013 Standard Edition pool pairing for DR, do I need to have the production FileStore on DFS and available in the DR site? Or will the filestore of the DR Lync server be used?
Production Site: 1 Lync 2013 Standard Edition server
DR Site: 1 Lync 2013 Standard Edition server
Okay, So where I work, we have two networks(Seperate ISP connections). A Tech team network, and a corporate network.
My question is, if i put one FE server on each network, and i connect 1 of the two nics on the Corporate FE to my tech network, will they be able to communicate? Like everyone show up in the contacts list. Without a edge server as well.
hello,
I have standard infrastructure: 2013 Lync FE internally with Lync 2013 edge in DMZ, 3 different ip for sip, av and webconf
everything was configured in help of technet , everything works perfectly, but I noticed one problem, when I try to reach external ip of sip service without dns, just ip address, I get
Status: 404 Not Found Server: RTC/5.0 FQDN: LEDGEOPP01.domain.com
this only working in chrome and firefox, IE just gives 404 error
why it gives domain name? I really dont want anyone to know internal domain name so easy, how can I remove it?
