Hi all,
just want to confirm something regarding Standalone mediation server VS collocated mediation server on the frontend server.
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398391.aspx
-----------------------------
1st part
The Enterprise Voice workload, dial-in conferencing, and advanced Enterprise Voice applications (Response Group application, Call Park application, call admission control (CAC), and so on), are available in Front End pools. The functionality of the Mediation
Server is built into the Front End Server. A separate stand-alone Mediation Server is not necessary.
2nd part
The only exception is if you configure a SIP trunk to connect to a Session Border Controller for an Internet Telephony Service Provider. To connect your Enterprise Voice infrastructure to your SIP trunk provider, a separate Mediation Server must be deployed.
----------------------------
How can first part work without SIP trunk, since it will require dial in number = sip trunk ?
If you have a main site (with Edge, frontend, mediation) and want to deploy a 2nd site, will 2nd site also require mediation, frontend and edge server? By this, the 2nd site will host its own meeting and users will have enterprise voice enabled.
Thanks!
