Lync newbie thrusted into decommissioning project. I looked through older, decom threads but did not see one that matches my situation. If there is one, I apologize, and point me in the right direction. Moving along...
As the title suggests, we have both a single Lync 2013 Standard FE server, along with an Enterprise pool consisting of 3 front end servers, an edge, reverse proxy and mirrored SQL DBs at this same site. Each setup has an Office Web Apps server as well; the OWA server related to the single front end server can also be decommissioned. There is also another 2013 EE pool at our DR site which is geographically located at a different datacenter; that pool is for failover, and will also remain untouched.
So you're asking, "what is the question or issue?" Quite simply, I don't know the steps to decommission the single standard front end server and corresponding elements (OWA server, DB(s), file store, etc.) without destroying the other pools which as I've stated earlier need to remain intact and in production.
I found one or two very simplistic pages on how to decommission a standard Lync 2010 front end server when in co-existence with Lync 2013, but this is all Lync 2013 and those pages don't address my situation with multiple pools in use. If you have any questions, please ask and I'll do my best to answer them. Thanks in advance for any information and support you can provide.
