I am having a hard time finding out which firewall ports I need to open for a Lync pool in one datacenter to communicate with a new lync pool in another datacenter.

Currently I have 2 Lync pools configured in one datacenter. I want to configure a 3rd Lync pool in another datacenter. Do you know which ports I need to open to so the two Lync pools in the current datacenter will communicate with the new Lync pool in another datacenter?

I have a lync pool with 3 FE servers.  If i run get-cspoolupgradereadinessstate i get inconsistent reponses from each server.  Below is the response i get from each server (state, total frontends, and totalactivefrontends is the same for each server). As you can see, the isreadyforupgrade value is different depending on which server is running the command?  is this to be expected?  all services are running on each FE.

Hi all,we have a hybrid environement with exchange 2010 and office 365. We moved a user to office 365 and after that we move it back to onpremise exchange. After that the user voice mail couldnot work. I mentined then that hostedvoicemail was set to true while all other user not. I set it to $null and voicemail started to work, but after some time the hostedvoicemail is set back to true byitself. Could someone please help me with this?

Hello everyone,

I have a litle problem in my skype test environment, I have checked everything twice, DNS records, certificates, everything, but I still cant communicate with users from skype federation... We have registered Edge server in pic.lync.com and I can find my test user account and choose to ad him to contacts from my personal skype account.  

This is the first error, that seems strange, because all ports are open, that need to be open, we have tested it multiple times..

And, there are also these types of errors in log files of SFB. But in those error lines there are no external server, internal SFB Server and Client machine. And I can also search for users in public skype and it works without problem, I can choose Add, but no invite is sent or received...

For me it seems that most strange errors are 403 and 504. I have searched all over the internet for solutions and nothing helps, its mostly check DNS and certificate and everything starts working by itself.. This is not the case for me.

So, is there somebody who can help me with this error? I would greatly appreciate it, because its been over a week and I cant add any contacts and cant finish testing of this product.

this issue has been reported previously for Lync2013 and was fixed via Hotfix (KB2817352 -When you click the Organization tab of a contact in Lync 2013, Lync 2013 crashes.)

We are currently using Skype for Business 2016 (16.0.4288.1000 32-bit) and are facing the same issue, but since it is no Office 2013, the KB is not applicable and I did not find any comparable KB for Office 2016.

Anybody any information on this issue, any workaround or related KB I could try?

I ran into the problem that within the organisation we are now testing S4B.

Setup is hybrid with O365 and the activated users are on-premise.

Now, I have

- 5 users set up identically in S4B (cross checked AD information and S4B configuration -> powershell)

- 3 users are able to create a meeting request in outlook through the addin

- 2 users get the above error

I tested the group policies and they are the same for the users. Even better, I setup a fresh computer and logged in with a working users profile -> success and with a non-working user -> fail. Hence I ran out of ideas what to check. Eventlog does not say anything.

Can someone help me with finding a solution or device a debugging method? Is there a way to tell Outlook to monitor more strictly the addin activtity?

Hi Guys,

Very strange issue here, we have a workflow called overflow (sip:overflow@domain.org) which is configured for 24/7 just for initial testing purposes. This workflow will then ring the 'overflow' queue which will then call agents in the 'overflow' group. There are no timeout settings configured so this will ring the group until the call is answered.

We have a test account in that group however when we make an external call to that RG number we hear the RG tone and ringing but no toast on client or handset.

I have other workflows in this Lyn 2013 Multi-tenant Environment working apart from this one. We have tried multiple RG service restarts and removing and re-creating workflows/queue/groups. Have also tried creating other test accounts but no change. Anyone out there with an idea on what may be causing this ?

   I have configured the Skype for Business 2015 server in my test level environment. I also configured Skype for Business SDN 2.2 with this setup.(LDL on front-end server and LSM on dedicated windows 2012 server).

Then followed by all the necessary configuration I have done in the SDN part, Now I am receiving all the quality related data at the network manager side. I can see the call status / quality / Device info in the output data part.

However, My objective is to configure the Skype for Business setup to bind the DSCP value with the data packets. I followed the below link to configure DSCP settings in active directory.

But still no luck on DSCP! I am not receiving any output data on the network manager side regarding the DSCPInbound / DSCPOutbound Elements.

Is there any specific configuration or tools that can help analysing the packets for DSCP value? or How could I verify the DSCP configuration is applied to my machine?

I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could kindly give me some suggestions on this.

Maybe a "noob question" but I have a problem. When I search a user in the S4B client search, I can't find a user by typing his display name, I can only find him by typing his IMAddress : firstname.lastname@domain.com

I just completed an inplace upgrade from lync server 2013 standard to skype for business.  All went very smoothly and my users didn't skip a beat and have reported no problems.  One thing I noticed in the call logs, in the peer to peer session details report are entries for a "remote assistance" under modalities.  

Clicking on details of the record shows the following:

Most of these show no end time and no diagnostic ID.  A few of them will show a warning (yellow) and the following under Diagnostic ID: 52142; reason="Disconnect tpcp control channel"

Any idea what these are? anything to worry about?

I have a problem, We have  on premises lync 2013 and successfully created the connectivity with Skpe and my Sip Domain. Able chat with skpe users from the Skype application from desktop. But when I installed Skype on my mobile I see the presence but not able chat, Typing option from mobile is graded out.

Trying to get external Mobile access using WP phones....It was once working, but someone made a change...without telling me...

I ran Test-CsMcxP2PIM, got a strange error msg "  Policy prevents request from being proxied"

Hi,

I have a central site in the UK and I am now opening a branch site in India (Hyderabad) to act as a call centre to our customers in the UK.

My question is with over 150ms could the users just connect back to the Central site in the UK over a site to site Link (Call cost saving) or does adding a front end pool in Hyderabad as well as my front end pool in the UK resolve any latency issues?

Does having a front end pool in both locations solve any latency issues or would I need an SBA connecting to a SIP in India to get the call quality?

Any help would be much appreciated.

There is a requirement to configure all three Skype For Business Edge Services(Access Edge Service ,WebConferecing Edge Service, A/V Edge Service) with a Single FQDN and Single IP

Please let me know if it is Microsoft supported and best practice. What can be the challenges if we go with this way ?

We recently bought some company from mother Russia and we are adding an .ru sip domain to Exchange/O365.     Of course, as my Office365 admins are trying to get me fired (it's inevitable, but i'm not worried) they are wanting to create the .ru people as LyncOnline only.   Like, instead of creating .RU on prem and migrating to O365, they just want to create the user in O365.

Our setup, is Skype Hybrid.   I am thinking that in that scenario - I need to create the user ONPREM and migrate the user to O365, right?   OR, is there a way to ax the ONPREM part out and just do in O365.

I was also wanting to somewhat bypass the requirement of messing with my certs and doing the whole 'add a new sip domain to lync' process - but, I'm thinking there isn't a way around that, right?
